Park Here and Play
This two-week summer festival of free playful activity was supported and inspired by the exhibitions and collections at Leeds Art Gallery, Leeds Central Library and the Henry Moore Institute. It started life as Park Here and Play in 2017, then became Pop Up and Play in 2018, and finally Create, Sculpt, Play as part of Yorkshire Sculpture International in 2019.
The space, on Victoria Gardens, was designed each year in collaboration with DLA Designs to encourage play for all ages in the city, making the most of the historic public square and surrounding area, including temporary green space on Cookridge Street.
The festival showcased the community engagement activity of the associated organisations and provided free, playful and accessible creative activities for all.
